The Makery Christmas Market!

23 Dec

A couple of weeks ago, Lucy Joy & I had a little weekend stall at the The Makery Christmas Market, It was a fabulous!  I sold my homemade chutneys & Lucy sold beautiful giclée prints.

I sold out of chutney by Saturday evening! :)

I have alway given my chutneys away as christmas gifts so was super excited to hear what all the customers had to say. The feedback was great, a lady even came back the next day & said “I had the fig chutney last night & it was lovely!”

Thank you to everyone for all their support & my lovely husband who put up with weeks of jam jars, apples, ribbon & lots more chutney making bits & pieces Xx

Ethical Stationery!

10 Nov

I have am SUPER excited to show you the NEW stationery that I have designed :)

It is trend led stationery range that raises money for kids to get educated in Africa; a big 25% contribution goes directly to Plan UK to help children in Sub-Saharan Africa!

The idea started on Chanel 4′s Battlefront T4 show and they have fully endorsed this.

I have loved working on this project, from designing the stationery & Logo, to the styling of the web shop its all been great fun. We also did a photo shoot in Oxford which was Ace!

The web shop is now up and live but we need to get the message across to as many teens and parents as possible, so we can raise as much as we can for such a great cause.
So if you know of, or have any kids yourself who might like this please check it out – www.ethicalstationery.com

There is also a competition to win some too! – https://www.battlefront.co.uk/competitions/win-some-amazing-stationery

Fabric Flower Headband

17 Oct

Last Year I made a cute felt flower necklace for Christmas presents & it is defiantly the most popular post I’ve made on my blog! ;)
So with that in mind I thought I’d do a new version for your fabric flower lovers!

The flowers are made in the same way as the felt one’s, you just need to sew or glue them to your headband instead of a ribbon.
I have made the flowers in soft cotton to give a lighter feel, they are not as defined as the felt ones but I think just as cute!

Happy sewing!

Super Simple Slippers

17 Oct

As it’s getting closer to winter I thought I’d better knit some 2011 Super Simple Slippers, I make a pair of these nearly every year as I wear them all year long & wear them out! I have made them stripey this yr, its a great pattern to use up any left over wool you may have.

They are really easy to knit and a fab Christmas gift if your thinking of making a present from someone.

You can find the pattern here, Happy Knitting!

Smoked Cheese & Rosemary Scones

17 May

I LOve Cheese scones and thought I’d give my recipe a twist with smoked chesse and rosemary!

Ingredients -
500g Plain Flour
4 Teaspoons Of English Mustard Powder
2 Teaspoons Of Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Sea Salt
250g Cold Unsalted Butter – Cubed
100g Smoked Cheese
200g West Country Cheddar Cheese
2 X 10cm Pieces Of Fresh Rosemary / Equal To 2 Tablespoons Once Finely Chopped
400ml Milk

Makes around 30 – 35 scones depending on the size and thickness you make them.
Preheat your oven – gas mark 5

Mix all your dry ingredients – flour, mustard powder, baking powder, sea salt & fresh rosemary.
Add the cold cubed butter and rub all together, till it looks like crumble mix.
Add all the grated cheese and give one final mix.
Lightly flour your worktop ready for the scone dough.
Slowly pour the milk into the mixture and combine with your hands, this maybe a bit wet but once you have kneaded it a few time on the floured worktop it will form a lovely cheesy dough!

Roll the dough out to about 1.5cm thick piece and using a 4cm round cutter, cut out your scones and bake for 25-30 minutes.
They will look golden brown & smell tasty when cooked. I like to sever them warm with cream cheese & rocket salad yum yum!

The great thing about this recipe is that you can change the cheese and the fillings to your own personal taste.
Happy baking!
