I tried a Turkish delight cupcake a couple of months ago at foodie market in Bristol & thought I must find a recipe & make these little beauties! I made the Turkish Delight from the Hope & Greenwood Life is sweet recipe book & found a cupcake recipe from the Gourmet Lovers site, the Turkish Delight took a while to make but taste & smells amazing!

Happy Christmas!

A couple of weeks ago, Lucy Joy & I had a little weekend stall at the The Makery Christmas Market, It was a fabulous!  I sold my homemade chutneys & Lucy sold beautiful giclée prints.

I sold out of chutney by Saturday evening!

I have alway given my chutneys away as christmas gifts so was super excited to hear what all the customers had to say. The feedback was great, a lady even came back the next day & said “I had the fig chutney last night & it was lovely!”

Thank you to everyone for all their support & my lovely husband who put up with weeks of jam jars, apples, ribbon & lots more chutney making bits & pieces Xx

It is trend led stationery range that raises money for kids to get educated in Africa; a big 25% contribution goes directly to Plan UK to help children in Sub-Saharan Africa!

The idea started on Chanel 4′s Battlefront T4 show and they have fully endorsed this.

I have loved working on this project, from designing the stationery & Logo, to the styling of the web shop its all been great fun. We also did a photo shoot in Oxford which was Ace!

The web shop is now up and live but we need to get the message across to as many teens and parents as possible, so we can raise as much as we can for such a great cause.

The flowers are made in the same way as the felt one’s, you just need to sew or glue them to your headband instead of a ribbon.
I have made the flowers in soft cotton to give a lighter feel, they are not as defined as the felt ones but I think just as cute!

This Year I Decided To Make A Mary Berry’s Perfect Victoria Sandwich! & My Own Sticky Apple Upside Down Cake!

Everybody Made An Amazing Effort And We Raised Lots Of Money!

Sticky Apple Upside Down Cake!

This Cake Is No Looker, But It’s Super Tasty!
Cake – Ingredients

120g Butter
100g Demerara Sugar
2 Eggs -preferably Free Range (Think Of The Little Chickens)
2 Tsp Baking Powder
140g Flour
2 Tsp Mixed Spice
2cm Chunk Of Fresh Ginger Peeled & Grated Or A Tsp Of Dried Ginger
400g Eating Apples – Peeled & Grated
4 Tsp Golden Syrup

For The Sticky Top!
1 Tsp Of Vegetable Oil
2 Apples Peeled And Sliced Neatly
1 Tsp Of Demerara Sugar

• You Will Need A Loaf Tin Lined With Greaseproof Paper If Its Not A Non Stick Tin.

• Preheat You Oven – Gas Mark 4, 180 Celsius, 350 Fahrenheit

Cream The Butter & Sugar, Add The Eggs One By One Mixing All The Time. Sift In The Flour, Mixed Spice, Baking Powder And Mix. Finally Add The Golden Syrup, Grated Apple & Ginger.

Pour A Teaspoon Of Vegetable Oil In The Bottom Of Your Baking Tin & Spread Over The Base So It Is Coated Evenly. Sprinkle The Demerara Sugar Over The Base Of The Tin & Layer The Sliced Apple On Top. Pour Over The Cake Mix & Bake For 45 – 50 Minutes

• Tip – To Check The Cake Is Cooked Use A Tooth Pick, Place Into The Middle Of The Cake And If It Comes Out Clean Then It Is Cooked.

When The Cake Is Cooked & Cool Carefully Turn Upside Down Onto A Plate & You Will Reveal The Lovely Sticky Apple Top!
I Like My Cake With  Some Fresh Vanilla Cream & A Nice Cup Of Tea

As I Am Not A Chef, You May Want To Tweak For Your Own Personal Taste.

Ingredients -
500g Plain Flour
4 Teaspoons Of English Mustard Powder
2 Teaspoons Of Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon Sea Salt
250g Cold Unsalted Butter – Cubed
100g Smoked Cheese
200g West Country Cheddar Cheese
2 X 10cm Pieces Of Fresh Rosemary / Equal To 2 Tablespoons Once Finely Chopped
400ml Milk

Makes around 30 – 35 scones depending on the size and thickness you make them.
Preheat your oven – gas mark 5

Mix all your dry ingredients – flour, mustard powder, baking powder, sea salt & fresh rosemary.
Add the cold cubed butter and rub all together, till it looks like crumble mix.
Add all the grated cheese and give one final mix.
Lightly flour your worktop ready for the scone dough.
Slowly pour the milk into the mixture and combine with your hands, this maybe a bit wet but once you have kneaded it a few time on the floured worktop it will form a lovely cheesy dough!

Roll the dough out to about 1.5cm thick piece and using a 4cm round cutter, cut out your scones and bake for 25-30 minutes.
They will look golden brown & smell tasty when cooked. I like to sever them warm with cream cheese & rocket salad yum yum!

The great thing about this recipe is that you can change the cheese and the fillings to your own personal taste.
